The Contractor's Scope of Works

The first stage of the project was divided into 2 phases.

Phase 1 involved the clearing of the site and the removal of any contaminated material. The site was visually inspected for any contaminated material lying on the surface and this was subsequently removed. Removal of any rubbish and green waste also continued.

Apart from the protected trees, all other trees were cut down to stump level. Once cleared, the site was then tilled by enviornmental contractors McElhinny Consulting to disturb the soil. The soil was then raked in a North/South and then an East/West direction. The site has been signed off by the enviornmmental consultants GHD, as being free of surface contaminates.

Phase 2 involved the removal of all walls, structures and hard stands as well as tree stumps. The topsoil was cut to a depth of 100mm. An existing redundant sewer was also removed. The existing house on Salvado Road at the entrance to the site was also demolished and removed.

Having now been awarded the civil construction works contract Wormall Civil will soon commence the final stage of the works including earthworks and installation of both below ground and above ground civil infrastructure and landscaping.

The Client's Project Overview

The Town of Cambridge sought community feedback on the proposed design guidelines for the apartment and single residential sites proposed for Parkside Walk. The opportunity to provide feedback was advertised in the local press.

The Town believes it's appropriate the former Perth City Council nursery site be developed for residential purposes in line with the State Government's Directions 2031 Planning Policy for Perth, and the Town's objective of creating communities of choice.

Parkside Walk will feature homes for every lifestyle - including single houses, townhouses and apartments - all just a short stroll from Wembley and Subiaco.

Residents will be able to enjoy views over Mabel Talbot Park and Henderson Park, as well as tree-lined streetscapes throughout.

Wormall Civil is very proud to have been chosen as the civil contactor of choice by LandCorp and the Town of Cambridge to clean up the site and deliver the civil infrastructure required for this exclusive estate in Perth's western suburbs.
